[00:00:00] It's the 10 to 1 podcast with your host, Brad Omen, featuring Ben Conowitz and Nate
[00:00:14] Loughs and here's the podcast!
[00:00:19] The friends were back after a one week break, we've decided to come back for another episode.
[00:00:23] We're here!
[00:00:24] Brad, that sounded very much like a ghost.
[00:00:27] I mean, Don P, he hosted a couple years ago and he hosted a holiday episode There was a lot of Christmas sketches in that episode he hosted. I don't know if it was the Christmas episode But it was definitely in December. No, but I'm okay with lots of holiday sketches throughout the whole Oh, of course, I know you're an eight we know I do that I love I love Tim is Timothy Chalamet on the show. I think that he he gets it
[00:01:41] If you're listening to this podcast, you know that we we really respect hosts that put themselves out there Six, fifth episode, six episode. Fifth. Fifth episode. And this one was exciting because the actor strike recently finally came to an end. So we had a host who was actually able to technically promote and talk about their upcoming movies. But it only came to an end like two days before, right? So it wasn't like they had a whole all week to prepare.
[00:03:00] Because we talked about this, I think the last show,
[00:03:02] the last episode of the 10 to 1,
[00:03:04] is he gonna do like a Wonka thing?
[00:03:06] Yeah.
[00:03:07] And so technically he could have, And Tim Scott played by Devin Walker, who does a great Tim Scott impression, by the way. I don't think people really appreciate that. Oh, no, I love this kid also includes Kenan Thompson in the role of Lester Holt. So a couple comments for me on this one. We don't often love the political cold opens and they've not been very good. They're often just paint by numbers, put James Johnson in there, do a Trump.
[00:04:23] He's got a great Trump. Even though I was frustrated at first, I was like, oh cool, they shoehorned Trump into a debate that he wasn't actually at. I did like the meta commentary on who they cast in certain roles and saying like not even SNL has faith that these people are going to be around for a while, you know. And so that I did appreciate that element and I like that. But again, I think that they still have a problem with they don't really know how to lampoon this like parade of idiots
[00:05:43] because you have them trying to make jokes out have thought that would have been hilarious. Yeah. Yeah, that would have been great So yeah better better than usual. I'll submit my writing packet next week guys better than usual still not great I want to give credit where credit is due
[00:08:22] Critical Molly carney and Eggo won't of I mean that's a lot of So it was like all of a sudden everyone's going 2.0. I got to tell you my girlfriend gets real mad when I soft launch her. All right moving on monologue by Timothy Chalamet there and they're all just dancing and he's waiting. And then you watch her like give him the cute, like she's saying it, she's like, and now like your host Timothy Shallamay
[00:09:41] and she like points the door and he goes out.
[00:09:43] So it was pretty cool to see.
[00:09:44] And he flies down the steps using the handrails
[00:09:47] and he's just so confident. the the the baby facing was planned and the AI and like talking about that. But I think that they because the registrant softened, they added the Wonka song. Yeah, I actually, I seem like two different things. Cause it seems like weird that they interrupt the Wonka thing for an entirely different vibe. And they maybe thought the baby facing was just too good to let go. Yeah, especially because Shalame is kind of known for at least before he was super
[00:11:03] famous for doing reps on YouTube and stuff like that.
[00:11:06] So I think that that was like a fun thing to play.
[00:11:07] What?
[00:11:08] What?
[00:11:09] You didn't know this? He's a 63. Moving on, Museum of Hip Hop Panel written by Alex English, Will Steven and Gary Richardson, featuring Nonya Business, played by Ego Wodham, and the A-list squad of Cornell West played by Keenan Thompson, Mary J. Blige played by Punky Johnson, and Rick Rubin played by James Austin Johnson, and the unexpected rapper played by Timothy Chalamet.
[00:12:22] Apparently, the rapper Sidekick, Guap Lord, played last time by Pete Davidson, is now That's great. Let me show my age now. I'm 42 years old and there are and I like rap quite a bit but there are new rappers that I feel like this song the thing that he was kind of parodying is a fairly like oh it's all over real. It really is all over SoundCloud and TikTok and all that and he's right trillions of listeners. I'm like yeah I don't understand like Biggie Smalls sold
[00:13:42] 20 million oh sweet flop. That's such a good line. Yeah I I particularly like Feynman, Keenan Thompson, as Neil deGrasse Tyson, Timothy Chalamet, as Martin Scorsese, Ego Oldham, as Jada Pinkett Smith, Molly Carney, as Kevin James, Michael Longfellow, as Bill Hader, which I loved, Chloe Trost, as Dame Maggie Smith, Sir Sherman, as John Mulaney, and Punkett Johnson, as Ice Spice. Reed Britney Spears' new book, portrayed by Chloe Feynman.
[00:15:01] Have you read this book yet Brad?
[00:15:02] Absolutely.
[00:15:03] It was a real page turner.
[00:15:04] I got it right away.
[00:15:06] I just wanted to get in, and they liked it. They're like, yeah, why not? Yeah, I suppose he mentioned working with Scorsese on that commercial. And I also do like when they have the actor that's hosting be portrayed by somebody different in.
[00:16:20] So that they do that a lot, obviously.
[00:16:21]
